š¾ 2024 Year In Review
looking back at the last year + Prism Superlatives
š
š» Ho ho ho!
Raise your hand if you can actually believe 2025 is 16 days awayā¦
What a great year itās been as Prism continues to grow, evolve, and ride the waves as they come, all while remaining true to our core values of people first, care & respect.
Cheers to another year and hereās to the next chapter in Prismās book of adventures!
Now⦠a look back at some milestones & numbers and some āPrism Superlatives.ā
Happy Holidays and thank you to every single person for your contributions, presence & positivity on this wild ride!
š¢ THE NUMBERS
We had 5ļøā£4ļøā£9ļøā£ mediations scheduled this year, and 5ļøā£0ļøā£0ļøā£ opportunities to give people a chance to say āYesā to a better tomorrow.
ā If every mediation that got scheduled only required 7 emails to get it on the books (which is probably an underestimateā ask our scheduling team!) thatās 3,843 emails received and handled by our office ladies just to get the ball rolling. š„µ
ā If 90% of our 500 mediated cases resolved (which remains our closure rate), thatās 450 injured workers + families whose lives we (presumably) positively impacted. š
ā We give 4 āturtlesā at every mediation, which means Connie made 2,000 turtles (or ~50 batches) for mediations alone this year (many more if you include all the ones for conferences & events!)
One ābatchā of turtles takes roughly 75 minutes from melting to wrapping, which means Connie spent 3,750 minutes (or 62.5 hours / 2.6 days) making turtles. š²
Our busiest month (December) had 5ļøā£8ļøā£ mediations scheduled at the time of this writing.
ā Taking out all the days we donāt mediate (weekends, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the day after Christmas, New Yearās Eve & New Yearās Day), that leaves 18 available days in December for mediations.
This means we averaged 3.2 mediations/day or 14.5 mediations/week. šš¼
While we make donations to various organizations throughout the year whenever there is a loss in our Prism Family, this year we donated independently to 3ļøā£ meaningful causes:
Hospice of Baton Rouge- We hosted a silent action at our annual crawfish boil and all the money raised was donated directly to Hospice of Baton Rouge.
a local Olympianās journey- Because we believe in connections, people & our community, we helped pay for a New Zealand diver, Lizzie Roussellās, travel expenses for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. You can read more about Lizzieās story here!
Front Yard Bikes- At our annual team retreat this year, we donated ~$500 of supplies for the kids at Front Yard Bikeās afterschool program. Go team! š

PRISM SUPERLATIVES
Letās end the year with some laughs, shall we? Alternative nominations welcomeā¦
P.S. As much as I would have loved for this to have some Christmas music in the background, both Copyright laws & email file size rendered that impossible so, PLEASE, play some holiday music while you view! š¶š
Merry Christmas to all and to all a BIG THANK YOU for showing up, working hard & being a part of the Prism Family. I think Sean said it best at our retreat: Work is not most peopleās safe place. How lucky we are.
Cheers!
