đŁď¸SHOUTOUT!
How one team member helped create "the Prism experience" this week
Since its inception, Prism has insisted on being a people-first, experience-based business rather than another âcommodityâ among the many other mediation options.
Some of the ways weâve prioritized thisâ handwritten thank you notes to all involved in a mediation, hot catered lunches daily, beekeeping, cookies, taking the time to visit with people and get to know themâ have garnered curious comments and questions about the utility, ROI & âeffectivenessâ of these things.
It seems obvious to us on the inside now, but even our building raised questions when people first heard about its design. âWhy are you making it look like a house?â âIsnât that going to be expensive?â âYou could just build a regular office you knowâŚâ
In sum, our insistence on being more than just a mediation company and being, instead, a place that considers peopleâs humanity and goes above & beyond to make every little detail and interaction meaningful and thoughtful, has made us not only unique, but also the subject of a few raised eyebrows. (Just ask Monika how many people poked fun at our booth at LASIE⌠and then came back multiple times for more stuff! Whoâs laughing now??)
Daring to do things differently is bound to make people stare, but itâs also guaranteed to make them remember who we are, and more importantlyâ make them feel seen as a person rather than just another customer.
This week, Blake Alphonso with John Rabalaisâ office sent the following message that speaks exactly to our insistence on doing these âlittleâ things:
âCan you please thank the person that made me a bag lunch yesterday to take home (I believe it was Monika). I ended up eating it for dinner, and it was delicious! That was really thoughtful and greatly appreciated!â

In sharing this with me, Alan writes, âEvery single person on our team works really hard to create the Prism experience⌠this is more than just swapping numbers. Itâs a culture.â
We shared this video of Teri on our Instagram this week, and though itâs a few years old now, the message remains the same. Our culture as a team, and as a company, directly correlates to the âsuccessâ weâre able to enjoy, and it takes each of our contributions to get us here.
Shoutout to Monika for taking such great care of our people, and kudos to our whole team for always being on the lookout for ways to put people first and create âthe Prism experienceâ for all we have the pleasure of working with!
P.S. Feel free to rat out any of your fellow team members to me whenever you see/hear about them doing something special! No celebration is too small.
